When you use WayFlip — whether you take a quiz, browse tours with filters, or use our trip discovery games — we may collect the following:

• Your email address and name, provided when you submit the contact form.
• Your quiz answers and filter preferences, which help us match you with relevant travel experiences.
• Your approximate location, detected automatically from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates. This helps us tailor recommendations to your region.
• Basic usage data such as pages visited and interactions, collected through analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) to help us improve the platform.

How we use your information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• To send you personalized travel recommendations by email based on your quiz results, filter preferences, or game outcomes.
• To share your travel preferences with trusted travel operators and partners who can fulfill the trips you have been matched with. This means a travel company may contact you about a specific trip that matched your profile.
• To improve WayFlip by understanding how visitors use our quizzes, filters, and discovery tools.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to advertising companies, data brokers, or any unrelated third parties.

Who may contact you

When you submit your details through WayFlip, you may receive email communications from:

• WayFlip — with personalized trip recommendations, new quizzes, and travel inspiration.
• Our travel partners — specialist tour operators who can provide detailed information, availability, and booking for the trips matched to your profile.

You will only hear from travel companies relevant to the trips you were matched with. We do not pass your information to unrelated businesses.

Cookies and analytics

WayFlip uses cookies and similar technologies for:

• Analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) to understand how visitors interact with the platform, including page views, session recordings, and heatmaps.
• Essential functionality such as remembering your quiz progress during a session.

We do not use advertising cookies or retargeting pixels on WayFlip.

Your rights

You can exercise the following rights at any time by emailing us:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Deletion — request that we delete all your personal data from our systems.
• Opt-out — unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, or email us directly.
• Correction — request that we update or correct your information.

We aim to respond to all requests within 7 business days.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (cloud-hosted PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit. Access to your data is restricted to authorized team members only.

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
